An Exploration of Nature, Form and Imagination
Sarang Jaltare born in 1995 and is a self-taught artist. His paintings unfold through a fascinating interplay of colour, texture and organic forms. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, his compositions bring together seeds, blossoms, foliage and abstract patterns, creating vibrant visual spaces that seem to grow and evolve across the canvas.
A recurring motif in his work is the seed, which becomes a metaphor for the origins of thought and the infinite possibilities contained within a single idea. As his father, the established Indian artist Sachin Jaltare, observes, just as a seed holds within it the potential of an entire forest, a single thought can open into an endless chain of ideas and associations. This interpretation offers an insightful way of engaging with the imagery that appears throughout Sarang 's paintings.
In one of the works, two vessel-like forms emerge against an exuberant background of magenta, pink and white, surrounded by an abundance of circular
and floral motifs. The contrast between the solidity of the vessels and the animated surroundings creates a compelling sense of movement and energy. In
another painting, earthy browns, ochres, greens and purples merge into a richly textured composition, where delicate seed- and leaf-like forms appear to emerge from an intricate natural landscape.
Through repetition, layered textures and unexpected combinations of colour, Sarang creates compositions that invite prolonged looking and personal
interpretation. His paintings suggest a world in which forms continuously multiply, interact and transform.
